Studio Ruwedata (Thijs Kelder) works since 2006 as an independent designer and artist in Rotterdam and is connected to the Lowriders and Dstruct Collective.
Ruwedata (Thijs Kelder) has its roots in the world of the underground and the sticker culture and has become known with striking black / white designs. A good example of this development is the Fool series, which emerged as stickers which heroes and anti-heroes are portrayed. With his theme ‘Forever Young, he treats timeless topics as love, vanity, violence and age. The work of this artist is often described as illustrative, and iconic/ graphic. Humor and rebellion play a major role. Ruwedata uses in his collages old neon advertising signs and signings as inspiration. On the whole, there is a key role for a striking or different character.
Lowriders Collective
Lowriders is a collection of a group bass lovers. The love of dubstep, funky bass, booty and grime, dancehall, hip hop and electro bass brought us together. Besides a well-attended parties and famous blog, I started a cooperation with Hans Beekmans; the Lowriders Recordings label. The focus is on an experimental but danceable mash-up of hip hop mixed with dubstep, grime and other heavy beats.

Dstruct
Within the Dstruct Collective, consisting of musicians, designers and graphic designers, Thijs Kelder is the person who autonomous takes care of the design and artworks for projects mostly in collaboration with *Mothership. The Dstruct Collective has its roots in the world of “underground” and the “sticker culture and notoriety with striking black / white designs. A good example of this development, the Fool Series, created as a sticker on which heroes and anti-heroes have been shown.

With roots in the underground tekno/acid scene, his style evolved over the years towards the bassminded styles like dubstep, UK funky, abstract hiphop and booty. His DJsets are full of energy, raw, with the right timing and ahead of the hype. As co-founder of Dstruct Collective, Lowriders Collective and Lowriders Recordings he has a reputation as the guy with a nose for talent. He is proud to be the resident at one of the most forward music event in the Nederland called Swipe. He shared the stage with names as Starkey, Hudson Mohawk, Eprom, Take, 6Blocc, Shackleton, Bibio, Akira Kiteshi, Lvis1990, Teebs, Bibio etc. And played venues like Melkweg, Tivoli, WATT, Waterfront, Effenaar, Doornroosje and LVC.
